GF Standard in the Czech Republic

  • A product can be labelled gluten-free if it contains less than 100 ppm (mg/kg) of gluten in, which is usually described as 100 mg of gliadin in 1 kg of product as consumed.
  • Products labelled naturally gluten-free cannot contain ingredients from wheat (including kamut, spelt, grano duro and other breeds of Triticum), barley, wheat and oats.
  • The use of wheat starch that has been rendered gluten-free is allowed in the Czech Republic, which means that some gluten-free products might not be wheat-free.
  • The use of oats is not allowed.
  • (The crossed grain logo is used for labelling GF food, but Společnost pro bezlepkovou dietu is not responsible for any guarantee at the moment as it does not license the crossed-grain symbol.)
